Crude isoprene is produced from C5 by-product of ethylene cracking unit by reaction and distillation. Crude isoprene is a colorless or yellowish liquid. It exists as a liquid at room temperature. It has the characteristics of low flash point and high volatility. It is a class A flammable and explosive substance.Its vapor and air form an explosive mixture, which is easy to explode in open fire and high temperature. Strong reactions occur in contact with oxidants and even cause combustion. Its vapor is heavier than air, and can diffuse to a considerable distance at a lower level, causing a reburning when exposed to open fire. Polymerization reaction may occur at high heat, and a large number of exothermic phenomena occur, resulting in vessel rupture and explosion accidents.

Packaging, storage and transportation

This product can be sealed and filled with steel tank truck and fixed steel tank. Steel tankers or tanks must conform to the relevant safety specifications. The filling capacity should not exceed 85% of the total volume.

This product is transported by car tanker or train tanker. Vehicle tankers or train tankers must comply with relevant safety standards. In the process of transportation and handling, the contents must be clean, collision and leakage must be strictly prohibited, sunscreen facilities should be taken, fire sources should be kept away, static grounding should be done well, and transportation safety standards must be complied with.
