Heavy aromatics are by-products produced in the production of C9 petroleum resin. The product exists in liquid form at room temperature and pressure, and has the characteristics of high volatility. It is a class A flammable and explosive substance. Its vapor and air form an explosive mixture, which is easy to explode in open fire and high temperature. Strong reactions occur in contact with oxidants and even cause combustion. Steam is heavier than air and can diffuse to a considerable distance at a lower level, igniting a reburn when exposed to open fire. In case of high heat, polymerization reaction may occur, and a large number of exothermic phenomena will occur, which will lead to vessel rupture and explosion accidents.

Packaging, storage and transportation

This product is packed in fixed steel tanks or in light oil tanker trucks. Fixed steel tanks and tankers for this product must meet the requirements of the national standards. Its filling capacity must meet the safety requirements and not exceed 85% of the total volume.

This product can be transported by car tanker or train tanker. Car tanker or train tanker must conform to relevant safety specifications. In the process of transportation and handling, collision and leakage are strictly prohibited. Sunscreen facilities should be adopted to keep away from fire sources and make good static grounding, which must conform to the relevant transport safety standards. The steel tank for storing this product must be isolated from the air and must meet the requirements of the relevant safety specifications. With intuitive level gauge and red line marking of maximum allowable level, safety accessories and facilities must be in good condition. Practical and reliable safety measures should be taken to eliminate all sources of fire. It is not suitable for long-term storage. It should be separated from oxidants and acids. It should not be stored together with dangerous goods that conflict with fire protection and extinguishing methods and equipped with corresponding fire fighting equipment.
